President’s Day — Sunday, August 4

CLUB president Linda Mullins held her President’s Day a couple of Sundays ago with stableford competitions for the ladies and men.

Held as a shotgun start at 9am with the brewery van being in attendance for on course drinks and with food put on by the new catering team of Dave Mantle and Sally Callow, players were treated to a heavy rain shower just as the hooter went to start play. This did clear off after a few holes and the rest of the morning stayed fine for Linda’s competition.

The ladies result was decided on countback with Beth Ratcliffe just pipping Jackie Whitehorn for the first spot both having scored 33 points. Third was Mandy Harvey on 32.

The men also competed on the day and the in-form Geoff Francis took first slot with 39 points, one ahead of both Malcolm Copley and Alan Creber.
