TRAMPOLINISTS who train at Launceston Leisure Centre and at their club in Okehampton achieved six national medals and other top placings at British Gymnastics’ Trampolining and Tumbling National Development Plan (NDP) Finals, held at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry on July 13 and 14.
The individual NDP Finals is the last event of the trampoline season. All nine gymnasts qualified for this event in June by achieving a top eight place at the team finals in Birmingham, another national competition where the gymnasts represented the South West.
On trampoline, Arran Stannard-Heap won gold in NDP5 Men’s 13-14, with Dylan Rundle also taking gold in NDP1 Men’s 13+ and Keira Moore winning bronze in NDP1 Women’s 13+. Emillie Hughes won a bronze medal in U15 Cat 1 disability class, with Bethan Honey and Yasmin Rundle achieving fifth places in NDP1 Women’s 11-12 and NDP2 Women’s 13+ respectively and Oliver Vine taking seventh place in NDP2 Men’s 11-12.
On the double mini trampoline, Owen Pitman achieved a gold medal in the NDP5 Men’s 15+ category with Harry Pitman taking silver in NDP1 Men’s 13+. The double mini trampoline training all takes place at the Okehampton Flyers Club in Okehampton and is another discipline within trampolining.
Coach Anne Dodds said: “The weekend was a tremendous achievement for all the gymnasts taking part and all are looking forward to the next season.”
