COMMONWEALTH Gold Medallist Steve Frew was guest of honour when over 800 students from Callington Community College took part in the pupils' 'Olympic Day'.
The day began with a rather damp opening ceremony, led by a group of dance and music students. The students then dispersed to their activities for the day, with the hope of being crowned Olympic Day champions at the end ceremony.
Students were allocated a country to represent Great Britain, USA, France, South Africa, Australia, Jamaica, Spain or China. The aim of the day was to inspire and engage all students through a programme of Olympic themed sessions, with a focus on the Olympic values.
