Ross-on-Wye followed last week's win against Vixens with an emphatic victory over visiting Leominster.

It wasn't as easy a game as the score-line suggests though, the Minions started much the brighter and took an early lead after a well struck shot deceived Catrin in goal.

Ross continued to be sluggish as their opponents showed more determination and passed the ball better. Only some excellent last ditch tackling by Millie Johnson prevented Leominster from extending their lead. Mid-way through the first half the introduction of Carys saw a change in attitude.

Some solid tackling and clearances resulted in Ross gaining the upper hand and better field position. Martha, Anna, Emily Harris and Esme came into the game more and some good passing moves developed. One such move resulted in Esme striking the equaliser from close range. This seemed to settle the Ross girls and on the stroke of half time Anna made it 2-1.

The second half was much better from a Ross perspective as they began to dominate their opponents. A second goal for Esme and another for Anna made the game safe. As confidence grew, good contributions were made by Millie Clayton, Millie Johnson, Leah, Carys and Emily Jarvis.

The highlight of the half though, came when the score was 4 -1 to Ross. Catrin in the home goal launched the ball out of hand, it reached the edge of the Leominster box before taking one bounce and soared over the head of the away keeper to make it 5 -1. Anna then secured her hat trick and added her fourth to finish the scoring at 7 – 1 to Ross.
