THE last thing Launceston boxer Olivia Orchard wanted to do last month was put her feet up – however she insists she is now back and raring to go after suffering a broken nose.

The 17-year-old was handed the honour of travelling to Bulgaria in September to represent England at the AIBA Women's Youth World Boxing Championships.

However, after reaching the last eight of the bantamweight draw, Orchard's fight against Yunzi Yuan of China was stopped short when she sustained the injury to her nose.

Orchard has been itching to get back into action ever since returning to training late last month and is determined to make up for the lost time.

"I got through to the quarter-finals against a Chinese girl, but I did two rounds when my coach pulled me out," said Orchard.

"My nose was stinging during the fight; I thought it was just a nosebleed at first, but I could feel the blood at the back of my throat and it turned out to be quite serious, with a broken nose."
