A FEBRUARY Fun and Frolics ladies' competition was held at Launceston Golf Club last week.

Thirty ladies participated in a welcoming event, organised by lady captain Jan Harrison.

The format was 3BBB with two scores to count. However, the first par three allowed the opportunity for players to buy Jan's drive — in the name of charity — and use it to enhance their score.

On the other par three they challenged the professional, John Tozer, again for charity, who was beaten by three of the players.

A club spokesman said: "One of the teams scored an unbelievable 11 points on a par three — how did they do that? Everyone had soup and rolls in the dining room afterwards where the winners were announced. There were seven 'new2Golf' players who were made extremely welcome and it was a great opportunity for networking."
