East Cornwall Premier League round-up
Tuesday, August 27
St Minver carried on their four-match winning streak when they entertained Padstow United last Tuesday. Goals from Ross Beare, Christian Cleave and Steve Wootton provided them with an easy 3-0 victory over their visitors.
Saturday, August 31
North Petherwin were unable to bounce back from their six-goal defeat last week, as they lost 2-0 to visitors Torpoint Athletic thirds.
The Badgers haven’t been able to find their form from the start of the season and currently sit ninth in the league, despite wins over Plymouth Marjon Reserves and St Dominick.
St Teath got their first three points of the season as they beat St Blazey 3-1 on Saturday. They will hope for a repeat performance when they entertain Foxhole Stars on Saturday.
St Minver were unable to make it five out of five as they fell to their first defeat of the season. Ten goals were scored during the game, but Minver were on the wrong end of a 7-3 loss to Foxhole Stars, who have now jumped above them in the league, resigning Minver to third.
Callum Wilson scored twice for the hosts with Robbie Green also on the scoresheet.
