LIFE in the top job at Callington continues to be a struggle for new manager Adam Chidzoy as Sonny Dover’s first-half effort settled the contest at Mount Wise.

The match itself was a turgid affair which saw both sides struggle to create many chances.

BUDE Town now just have their league campaign to focus on after losing 3-0 to their old rivals at Broadclose Park.

The two clubs battled each other last season to avoid relegation from Division One (West) of the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League with both sides finishing safe although Illogan took voluntary relegation to compete in the LWC Drinks Cornwall Combination League, where they are currently ninth.

Although the Seasiders missed first-half chances, they found themselves 2-0 down at the break thanks to goals from Dominic Batchelor and Steve Abbott-Smith and the visitors added a third in injury-time through Luke Abbott-Smith.

Second-bottom Bude are back in league action on Saturday when they make the short trip by their standards to third-placed Wadebridge Town (2.15pm).
