NEWQUAY AFC have announced that strength and conditioning coach Dan Reeve is joining the club from Wadebridge Town.
The Peppermints secured promotion to the Western League for the first time in their history back in April, and in a bid to give themselves the best chance of staying there are recruiting both on and off the field.
A club statement read: “Newquay AFC is delighted to welcome Dan Reeve to the first-team coaching staff.
“Dan brings over two decades of experience in physical performance and athlete development, with previous playing roles at Norwich City, Colchester United, Chelmsford City, and Wealdstone. His competitive background as a Team GB strongman and ultra-endurance athlete sets him apart as a unique and inspiring figure in the fitness world.
“Dan’s arrival will have a direct and meaningful impact on the playing squad. His science-based training programs are tailored not just to improve fitness, but to enhance recovery, reduce injury risk, and build long-term athletic resilience. His hands-on approach ensures each player benefits from a personalised plan to meet the growing demands of Western League football.”
Club chairman Jack Hunter added: “Promotion is a reward for the players, coaches, volunteers, and supporters who give so much to this club and bringing in someone of Dan’s calibre shows we’re serious about making the most of this opportunity. His influence will be seen in the improved physical condition of our players, better preparation, and ultimately, better performances on the pitch.”
On his reasons for joining, Dan added: “Newquay AFC is on a really exciting journey, and I’m proud to be part of it. My focus is on giving every player the tools they need to stay strong, stay fit, and compete consistently at a high level. We’ll build a culture of discipline, resilience and smart recovery—so they’re not just working hard, but working right.”
