St Piran League East round-up

LAUNCESTON Reserves’ superb season continued on Saturday although they were made to work hard by their Wadebridge Town counterparts in a 3-2 victory at Bodieve Park.

Marius Pislaru’s double was added to by a Liam Downing screamer as the Clarets ran riot in the first-half, although their failure to turn their dominance into more goals nearly cost them.

The Bridgers, who have now lost all 11 league games, fought back after the restart with Jordan Stone scoring twice.

But Launceston held on for another excellent three points.

Bude Town have been in good form in recent weeks. However they were beaten 4-0 by Saltash United Reserves at Broadclose Park.

Callington Town failed to move away from the lower echelons of the table as Saltash Borough were 5-2 winners on the artificial surface at Salt Mill. Ben McIver Redwood and Alex May were on target for the visitors.

They will hope to bounce back on Saturday when they head up to Morwenstow, who were without a game at the weekend.
