South West Peninsula Division One West
Bude Town 5
Holsworthy 1
THE EASTER ground hop was rounded off at Broadclose Park as over 400 spectators watched Bude Town beat Holsworthy 5-1.
The home side, who in fact could have won by an even larger margin, opened the scoring through captain Billy Hopcroft who superbly slotted the ball into the right hand corner of the net.
A great team move resulted in the second goal which was well taken by Tommy Statton.
Holsworthy’s day darkened further when Carlo Chandler was shown a straight red card.
With a man advantage, Bude’s Hopcroft was denied by the bar before making it 3-0 at the break with a fierce strike.
Chris Hill nodded in Bude’s fourth while, soon after, Nathan Bonney pulled back a consolation for Liam Dart’s men.
The scoring was completed late on by Luke Potter whose mishit fooled the goalkeeper.
