North Devon League round-up

BRADWORTHY earned their first league win of the season on Saturday, a 3-1 success at Shamwickshire Rovers.

A double from Gary Clarke coupled with an effort from Harrison Palmer meant they leapfrogged Torridgeside Reserves to move off the bottom.

Local rivals Holsworthy Reserves and Shebbear United will meet the last four of the Combe Martin Cup in February after convincing victories on Saturday.

Holsworthy eased past their Torrington counterparts 3-0 at Upcott Field with Joel Greening, Ben Sharpe and Oliver Moores on target for the Magpies.

Shaun Sluggett and James Vanstone both notched hat-tricks as they demolished Fremington Reserves away from home. Ryan Down and substitute Jack Squire were also on target for ‘Sheb’.

Morwenstow Reserves remain winless in Intermediate Two after losing 3-1 at home to Torridgeside thirds. Alex Kingdon was on target for the hosts but three goals in a 12-minute spell either side of the break proved decisive.

Ashwater lost 5-1 at leaders Park Rangers in Intermediate One with Nick Smith on target for the Yellows.

MID-TABLE Halwill were unable to play their fixture at home to bottom side Clyst Valley Reserves as their pitch was still unfit for use, following the recent poor weather.
