LAUNCESTON?Fire Station played their second friendly game at?a North Petherwin representative side on Thursday, May 4 and came away as winners in an excellent natured match up with a selection of players, veterans and youth. Petherwin winger Chris Alford opened the scoring with a great strike which gave Mitch Dyer no chance.

The game then turned with a left-footed rocket from Ryan Christophers and an unfortunate own-goal as the fire service went 2-1 ahead.

More goals came through Wayne Downing and Andy Sleep, and referee Lee Robinson awarded a penalty for each side which were dispatched by Jan Stanbridge and Will Hinks.

A great atmosphere in the sun that had it all, class from Liam Tilley and James Lobb, robust defending from Wayne Basford and Josh Sanders, skilful displays from Steve Jasper and Ben Davey and a rousing half-time team talk by the ever brilliant Laurence Wright.
