The cold weather played havoc with yesterday's sporting programme, with a whole host of matches called off due to frozen pitches.

In the Toolstation Western League, the matches between Keynsham Town and Saltash United, Shepton Mallet and Torpoint Athletic, and Cadbury Heath and Millbrook were all postponed.

In the South West Peninsula League, Callington Town’s trip up to the North Cornwall coast to take on fifth-placed Bude Town was off, as was Liskeard Athletic’s home clash with St Dennis, Bodmin Town's home game with Dobwalls, and Launceston's match with Camelford.

In Premier East, Holsworthy against Dartmouth was also called off.

Rugby was also badly hit, with Launceston's home game with Brixham and Plymouth Albion's home fixture with Leeds both being postponed close to kick-off time.

Saltash's Tribute Counties Two Cornwall trip to Helston Athletic was called off due to a frozen pitch, as was Bude's league match, but Liskeard-Looe's home game with Newquay Hornets amazingly survived, despite the football pitch the other side of the hedge being frozen, as did Bodmin's match at Camborne School of Mines.

The weather has also affected today's fixtures, with Liskeard Athletic Women's last game of 2022, against Sherborne, postponed, and Callington Town Vets versus Helston Athletic Vets also falling victim to the cold snap.
