St Piran League East

Bude Town 0

Callington Town Reserves 2

SECOND-HALF goals from Ben Clarke and Billy Coton gave Callington Town Reserves a surprise 2-0 victory at Broadclose Park.

Played in very windy conditions, Bude dominated the first-half with the wind at their backs but failed to capitalise on their superiority.

It was the second-half when the game really kicked into life with the home side starting strongly. A plethora of chances fell to the Seasiders but Bude again were unable to make their dominance pay.

The sucker-punch came in the 65th minute when a 25-yard strike from Clarke was deflected into the Bude net to give the visiting side the lead.

Callington gained heart from the opener and doubled their lead in the 71st minute from a well-worked goal down the left that was deftly chipped over goalkeeper Gary Dinshaw by Coton.

The Reds then held on for just a fourth win of the season, which moved them seven points clear of second bottom Wadebridge Town Reserves.
