SOUTHGATE Colts duo Jared Burns and David Reardon have been recognised for their excellent service to the club at the club’s presentation evening on Saturday, May 21.
Jared who has just finished his last season at under16 level, received the Justin Chettle Trophy, for his great commitment and loyalty to the club having played for the club since an extremely young age. The trophy is awarded every year to an under16 player who show these qualities in memory of Justin who tragically passed away at a young age several years ago.
David on the other hand was awarded the Linda Cox Trophy for being clubman of the year. This is awarded following the passing of Mrs Cox who was a devout follower of the club, supporting her boys, Shaun, Ryan and Nathan who have all played for Southgate throughout their youth.
Unfortunately David could not be there, however his award was collected by his son Simon who also plays for the under16s.
