BUDE Town returned to winning ways last night as they saw off St Piran League Premier Division West side St Day at Broadclose Park.
After friendlies at Dartmouth, North Molton, Saltash United and Torrington, it was the Seasiders’ first home outing of the season, and they gave those in attendance plenty to be encouraged by.
They led 2-0 at the break through Denham Guild and Billy Hopcroft, although they would have felt their lead should have been greater as a combination of poor finishing and good defending kept the yellows in with a sniff.
St Day pulled one back early in the second half and had an equaliser ruled out for offside, but Bude ensured a morale-boosting victory when Gabby Rogers slotted in a late third.
