Following the disappointment of last Sunday's cup final defeat to Lads Club Vixens, the Ross-on-Wye girls bounced back and secured the Herefordshire Girls U12s League title in style, seeing off a determined Bromyard team.
Although Ross started nervously, they were soon into their stride, putting together several good passing combinations and Anna, Esme, Emily Harris and Martha all came close to scoring. The visitors defended doggedly though and it took a well struck finish by Anna to open the scoring after 15 minutes. Five minutes later and Ross were two nil ahead.
Some slick interchanges between Martha and Tegan resulted in the ball falling to Esme who smashed it home from close range. Bromyard refused to give up and Carys, Emily Jarvis and Leah had to remain alert in the Ross defence. Catrin, although rarely troubled in the first half, once again showed good handling and marshalled her defence well at set pieces. Just before half time the game was effectively over when, following a precise through ball by Anna, Tegan coolly slotted home to make it three nil.
