THE Year 10 cricket team (pictured) from Callington Community College represented Cornwall in the English Schools National Cricket Cup first round – and beat Devon. Playing against Shebbear College, this was the first time Callington had represented Cornwall at cricket. The team scored 291 for 1 (Toby May, 126 not out, Luke Brenton, 113, and Josh Murray-Dustan, 20 not out). They then bowled the opposition out, winning by 107 runs. In the next round, Callington play Sherborne, representing Dorset.
Toby May and Luke Brenton (right), who both scored centuries, were part of the U15 Cornwall team which went on tour to the West Indies earlier this year.
