FARMER'S Wife. Egg 'N' Walrus. Vibraphone. Names not significant to the world's mainstream sports perhaps, but for devout followers of Sensible Soccer, these are the stars of the show.
A carnival atmosphere greeted fans, participants and curious drinkers at the Tree Inn, Stratton, last Sunday, as the annual Sensible Soccer World Cup (SSWC) took place to great anticipation.
Organiser and SSWC President Rob Saxton had again drummed up significant interest in the event beforehand, no doubt looking to surpass the tournament's tremendous success of the previous year.
A fervent optimism filled the bar, with even the self proclaimed rookies quietly confident they could provide an upset.
