A keen fan of the pastime since she was young, Sarah has fond memories of watching the darts championships at Lakeside on television each year with her mum, when they used to cheer on their favourite player, Martin 'Wolfie' Adams.
The opportunity to get involved in the sport competitively didn't arrive for Sarah until she was 16-years-old, from which point she used to head to the Horseshoe in Tresparrett and take part in the pub tournaments held there on a Sunday night with her dad.
It was here her game really started to develop, under the tutelage of her teammates in the Horseshoe side which competed in the Camelford league. Her first team, Sarah remains grateful to those who helped her back then to this day.
"They were all really good players, and took the time to teach me how to play and gain confidence at marking the games. I was given my first set of darts by a local lady called Kath, and I still play with those same darts now."
