THE final junior competition for members of Launceston, Bude and Wadebridge tennis clubs was staged at Budehaven Community College last week.

Another bumper entry took part, as the number of regular competing juniors across the three clubs continues to rise.

The red event had nine entries with Zach Davis (Bude) emerging as the winner. Cameron Hutchinson (Wadebridge) took the honours in the orange tournament, which had a further nine entries. Will Heard (Launceston) took the green title with an entry of five.

The junior girls meanwhile saw Lauren Dunn (Bude) win a girls' event that consisted of eight players.

The junior boys had the top entry of the day, with 13 players in action. Scott Green (Bude) was the champion, having played five matches in the process.

Coach James Brobin commented:?"The 2013 tournaments staged at Launceston, Bude and Wadebridge tennis clubs have been superbly attended, with the number of regular competing players on the rise, as are the standards."
