Trelawney Division 1

Bude 10 Plymm Valley 0

THE first game against Plymm Valley was a very end to end game and Bude managed to hold on to a point away from home but with Bude improving week on week they are now a dynamic team.

Plymm Valley started well, causing the Bude defence some problems but with Cara Phillips, Jemma Ball, Chloe McGrath and Hannah Maloney in the home defence they were unable to force any short corners.

Bude counter attacked well Di Old and Tammy Snowsill Messenger played the ball out to the wings where both Charlotte Prime and Heather Matthews out paced the away side.

Charlotte Prime opened the scoring with a fine solo run into the D and beat the keeper. Bude continued to play attacking hockey and with Plymm Valley getting frustrated they had a player dismissed for retaliation, this made things much easier for the home side and goals came quickly, Charlotte Prime scored her second again from great passing and moving. Cara Phillips played a lovely ball out of defence to Emily Shepherd she drove into the D her shot was saved but Tammy Snowsill picked up the rebound and calmly flicked into the net.

Bude were playing with confidence and this resulted in Erinne Bickle scoring from close range, Plymm Valley were camped in their own half for the remainder of the first half. Di Old scored with a strike from a short corner finding the bottom corner.

Bude were in total control of this game with Zara Higham and Chloe Hall making life difficult for Plymm Valley.?They struggled to clear the ball away from the goal, again it was Tammy Snowsill who picked up a deflection and slotted the ball home.

Plymm Valley did try to break down the middle but never found a way into the Bude D and struggled to contain the rampant home team.

Bude were in the driving seat and Zara Higham got her goal when she took on the keeper, rounded her and put the ball in the net. It was Cara Phillips who scored next with a great run through the middle she passed the ball to Emily Shepherd who then passed it back to Cara Phillips at the top of the D and expertly dispatched the ball past the keeper. Charlotte Prime got her hat-trick late on in the game with some sublime link up play from Di Old and Heather Matthews, Bude pressed the defence of Plymm Valley and Zara Higham completed the scoring with her tenaciousness in front of goal despite her first effort being saved she picked up the rebound and slammed the ball past a defender on the line.

Thanks was expressed to Alan Muller for his coaching from the sidelines and all the supporters who came and watched.

Next week they are at home to Duchy — this will be another tough game.
