Members of the Ross-on-Wye Junior Football Club Junior Team saw two age groups win in the Adam Stansfield Tournament on Saturday, May 30th; the under 8s, and the under 12s

Luckily there was glorious weather as the play was watched by supporters, parents and two special guests, the new Honorary Patrons, Paul Deneen OBE and Joyce Thomas MBE, who nominated the Club for a prestigious Queen's Award for Voluntary Service.

Ross Juniors has grown, since starting in 2004, to become the largest and most successful football club in South Herefordshire, catering for all age groups. Since 2010 the club has taken a leading role in steering a Community Interest Group to take over the under-utilised Ross Sports Centre to create a vitally needed hub for local football.

Jim said: "Previously, both the local and national Football Association, along with regional sports organisations and newspapers, have recognised the club with numerous prestigious awards. However, this is our biggest achievement yet. The work of Ross Juniors Football Club's volunteers has truly revitalised football in South Herefordshire and it is something the town can be really proud of."
