After being blown out the previous weekend the Looe sailing fleet were pleased to get their first evening race in on Thursday.

The fairly strong winds early in the day moderated to light later on.

The Hawkins brothers Ollie and Archie got the best start in the Mirror race and built up their lead steadily as the race went on with Joe Jackman and Jack Sargent having to settle for second spot ahead of a first podium position for Hannah Staff and Bethan Gummow.

Peter Greenwood followed his recent April Cup success with another Enterprise win in a close race with three other boats in contention should he have slipped up.

Unfortunately, a large fleet were disappointed on Saturday, they all made the start line only to sit there bobbing around as the breeze died completely. The postponement flag went up but after a delay and no sign of improvement the race was abandoned.

The safety boats did a good job towing some of the fleet back into the harbour.
