TORQUAY United's development centre at Camelford has been up and running for a month, and the club has already recruited some very good talent from the surrounding areas.
"It has been a great start to life here," said John Peters, the sites Centre Manager. "We have brought in some good quality players, some of whom the coaches have high hopes for. We are still very new in the area, but we are starting to take shape and the squads are looking good.
"In the next few weeks we will look to get our games programme in place, so our players will start testing themselves against the other development centre's we have for the club. That is when our players get a real taste of the task ahead to progress to the Centre of Excellence."
Whist Torquay United remain relatively new to the area, with the Truro site which opened in September of 2010 being the club's first venture into Cornwall, the club has started to become a favoured option for talented young footballers in the area, and there is a good sprinkling of players from the Duchy in the clubs centre of excellence already.
