BUDE debutant Adam Curtis was part of the Cornwall Golf Union Men's County team to become new Channel League Champions following an emphatic away win against Glamorgan at Radyr Golf Club (GC), South Wales, recently.
The Duchy team put together an excellent afternoon singles win to cement the early advantage they held after the morning foursomes and produced a 10.5-4.5 winning margin. This win enabled Cornwall to overhaul Devon at the top of the table and become Champions for the first time since 1997.
The team went into the match knowing that any win would see them claim the title on game points but away from home that is always a tall order. Against a determined Glamorgan team the Cornish displayed conviction and yet again proved what a collective array of talent currently represents the county.
