FOUR-GOAL?Sam Davey sent Torpoint Athletic crashing to defeat at Pennygillam on Saturday, while helping move his side up two places in the league.

Sam Scott's ninth minute free-kick arrowed into the Athletic net to give the Clarets the lead, but the visitors drew level as the half-hour mark approached through Reece Shanley's driven effort.

Davey was given the chance to score his first from the spot after Shanley handled in the area, and he duly dispatched the penalty to give Launceston the lead at the break.

The second-half saw the Clarets pull away in convincing fashion, with Davey repeating his previous feat and netting a penalty on 50 minutes.

He completed his hat-trick 15 minutes later with a clinical header, before setting up Mike Steel to convert Launceston's fifth.

Davey's fourth goal was the pick of the bunch, but Torpoint were given an opportunity to reduce arrears after being awarded a penalty of their own. Simon May guessed correctly however, and saved the effort.
