LIAM Tilley just missed out on a century as Launceston piled on the runs in their home clash with Wadebridge Thirds in Division Four East.
The No.3 bat, who made 92, smashed ten fours and two sixes before he was caught by Joe Wilson off the bowling of Flynn Dingle.
Equally on song were Kevin Worth (66), Johnny Knight (64) and Muhammad Zohaib (45no) as the North Cornwall outfit posted a huge 341 for five from their 45 overs.
Sadly, Wadebridge’s chase never hit the same heights, Joe Wilson top scoring with 39. Matt Bloomfield (4-43) was the pick of the home attack, although Zohaib also claimed figures of 3-28.
Werrington Thirds claimed a four-wicket win from their trip to St Neot, who scored 159 all out.
Chris Simpson’s 67 was the highlight for the Taverners with Sam Uglow responding in kind by taking (4-9) from his 3.2 overs.
Marley May’s 50, plus Paul Miller’s 32 then helped Werrington to their fourth win of the campaign.
Buckland Monachorum have a 19-point lead at the top of Division Five East after their six-wicket win at home to Holsworthy.
Adam Talbott’s unbeaten 53 and four wickers for Harry Tredwin were the highlights of their win.
Launceston Seconds couldn’t match the efforts of their First XI, dismissed for 67 in their nine-wicket loss at Pencarrow.
In Division Six East, Bude Seconds thumped St Minver Seconds by ten wickets. Mark McManus took (5-34), before Michael Taylor (74no) and Jack Miles (39no) did the rest.
St Neot struck 221-8 on the road at South Petherwin with Liam Champion (45), Ted Dyer (43) and Malcolm Copplestone amongst the runs.
However, it was James Berry who was the star performer for the hosts, claiming figures of 4-34, before hitting an unbeaten 72 as they won by three wickets.
