BRADLEY’S VINTER CUP QUARTER-FINAL ROUND-UP
ST ERME are the only County Division One side remaining as they saw off Beacon by 31 runs at Castle Field on Wednesday night.
The game was reduced to 17 overs per side but St Erme openers Jake Preston and Kyle Van Rooyen put on 91 before Van Rooyen went for 51.
Preston continued on his merry way to 61 from 39, and with Richard Kellow adding 13 off 9, they eventually reached 152-6. Jordan Thomas took 3-26 from his four.
Ben James took Van Rooyen for 38 from his two overs, but after James was bowled for 39 from just 16 balls by Richard Kellow, the wheels fell off in spectacular style as they slipped from 50-0 to 64-7.
While Kellow took 3-20 and got the big wickets of James and Jordan Thomas, Shane Tangye provided the perfect foil with 4-8 from three overs.
Dan Eathorne then made 34 off 22 to give the visitors a chance, but Alfie Tangye (3-19 off 2.1) kept his nerve.
Elsewhere, Premier Division sides St Just and Truro eased through.
St Just visited top-flight rivals Helston on Tuesday and were in a spot of bother at 107-6 with 14 balls remaining, but Logan Curnow hit 33 off his 12 balls which was added to by two maximums from Jamie Semmens (18no off 14) as they reached 152-6.
Earlier, Chamikara Edirisinghe struck 37 from 26 while Aussie Jayden Mitchell (2-20), Ryan Tonkin (2-21) and Harry Saunders (1-21) all bowled well.
Helston saw opener Mitchell add 21 off 12, but when he departed to man-of-the-match Curnow, Helston fell away to 86 all-out.
Young spinner Lewis Stephens took 4-16 from his four overs.
Truro enjoyed the easiest victory as they thrashed County Division One leaders Hayle by nine wickets.
Hayle mustered just 83 all-out with nobody bar Dan Lello (30 off 33) making much impression.
Spinners Adam Price (2-22) and Jack Ivamy (3-17) shared five wickets.
Truro knocked off their target in just 8.2 overs. Luke Johnson made 14 before departing to Truro legend Tom Sharp, but Scott Kellow (43no off 25) and Akhilesh Sahani (30no off 21) ensured an early finish at The Towans.
