SOUTH Petherwin Cricket Club has received £1,000 from the Papillon Fund to purchase a lawn mower to cut the wicket and centre strip.

The Papillon Fund is donated by CleanEarth and administered by the Cornwall Community Foundation. The fund supports community projects in the St Thomas and South Petherwin parishes.

South Petherwin Cricket Club’s facilities are constantly improving with new covers and improved drainage amongst the most recent improvements on the pitch.

In recent season’s they have also had an upgrade to their pavilion and their changing room facilities.

CleanEarth’s Tamsin Perry, said: “We are delighted that the community fund has been invested in such a worthy local scheme. The pride and satisfaction from giving back to the local community drives us to continue in our venture to make the switch from fossil fuels to renewable energy.

“ Our commitment to communities and therefore the local residents, will enrich the lives of generations to come over the next 20 years and that is very humbling.”
