HOLSWORTHY’S 150th anniversary celebrations went to perfection on Saturday as they beat neighbours Bude by 44 runs in Division Two East of the Bond Timber Cornwall Cricket League.
The Trees chose to bat and made 219 all out thanks to Matt Shepherd’s 51 plus 46 from Jack Greening and 37 from skipper Ryan Walter.
Australian seamer Brett Hunter took 3-30 from his nine overs while Matt Williams claimed 5-40 with his off-spin.
Bude’s reply never really got going, and although Andrew De Rosa made 50 and James Sharman 36, Herschelle Poggenpoel (4-35) and Jack Greening (3-38) shared seven wickets as they fell comfortably short.
