WERRINGTON will kick off their ECB Cornwall Premier League title defence with a home against Redruth on Saturday, May 19 after the draft divisions for the LWC Drinks Cornwall Cricket League season were announced on Monday, January 28.

However before Paul Smith’s men get stuck into the 18-game season, they will compete in the new T20 competition for Premier League clubs which kicks off on Easter Saturday (April 20) with a double-header against old rivals Callington at Ladycross.

The new competition sees Werrington in Pool B alongside Callington, Wadebridge, St Austell and Grampound Road, although they won’t play Grampound due to the X Pool which sees each of the ten teams across the county face one from the other pool. In Werrington’s case they’ll tackle Truro at home on Saturday, May 4.

The top two from each pool go through to the T20 Finals Day on Sunday, May 19 at a venue yet to be decided.

24 hours earlier will see Redruth visit Ladycross and they are also at home seven days later before they round off May with a visit to Grampound Road on Bank Holiday Monday.

Their rematches with Penzance are scheduled for Saturday, June 8 at St Clare and Saturday, August 10 at Werrington.

They end the season with the visit of Truro on Saturday, September 7.

Callington survived in their first season back in the Premier in 2018 but have been handed a tough start.

They welcome St Just in the opener before heading to Werrington on the 25th and welcoming St Austell two days later.

They finish the campaign with trips to Wadebridge and Falmouth.

In County Division One, Werrington seconds surprised everyone to finish fifth last year. They start at promoted St Austell seconds on Saturday, April 20 before entertaining Rosudgeon in their first home game.

The all-important derby dates with Launceston are scheduled for June 22 at Lawhitton before the rematch at Ladycross on August 31.

Kevin Worth is in full-time charge at Launceston but have been handed the toughest of starts.

They welcome Troon and head to Gorran in their first two before facing three of the better sides in the league in Camborne and long treks to Beacon and Helston.

Gorran are the visitors to North Cornwall on the final day.

Two Post area sides clash in their Division Two (East) opener as Luckett travel up to the coast to face Bude while St Minver head to Tideford.

Luckett entertain relegated Roche in their first home game at Chapel Field while St Minver welcome Ladock. Those fixtures are reversed on the final day.

Bude go to Grampound Road seconds in their second game before welcoming St Minver to start May.

Division Three sees half of the 12 teams come from the Post area, which ensures plenty of local bragging rights are at stake.

The only two to meet in their curtain raiser are Tintagel and Holsworthy who clash on the North Cornwall coast. Division Four East champions Launceston seconds go to St Austell thirds while fellow promoted side Bude seconds make the trip to Wenmouth to face St Neot.

There’s a battle of the relegated sides at Moores Park as Callington seconds host title favourites St Blazey while South Petherwin head to the Deer Park to face relegated Boconnoc.

There’s two derbies on the second weekend as Launceston face Callington while South Petherwin entertain Tintagel.

Holsworthy have three derbies in succession to start May as they welcome South Petherwin and Bude seconds either side of a trip to Launceston. South Petherwin and Launceston face off on May 18 at Lawhitton and July 13.

With just ten teams in Division Four East, the season doesn’t start until Saturday, May 4.

Relegated Werrington thirds head to Bodmin to tackle Lanhydrock seconds while Delabole are also on the road as they go to Gorran seconds.

Luckett seconds have a home date with Division Five champions Buckland Monachorum.

Werrington’s first clash at Ladycross under new skipper Dan Jenkin sees them face Gorran while Delabole are on the road once more at Bugle. Luckett head to Duloe.

Bank Holiday Monday sees Werrington go to Delabole before the return fixture on July 27, while Luckett and Werrington square off on June 15 and the penultimate weekend on August 17.

South Petherwin seconds and Milton Abbot are the only two sides from the Post area in Division Five and they face off at Kennards House in their curtain raiser. They’ll reacquaint themselves on June 29 at Baxter Park.

Division Six sees a plethora of local teams taking part as Gunnislake, Launceston thirds, St Minver seconds, Tintagel seconds and Werrington fourths all competing.

The first match up involving two Post area clubs is on the opening day as Tintagel go to Launceston.

The derbies between Launceston and Werrington are scheduled for the May Bank Holiday Monday (May 27)) at Ladycross with the return match at Lawhitton on July 27.
