THE commendable charity work of the members of Holsworthy Golf Club continues unabated.

Captain of the juniors' section Adam Isaac recently organised an event on behalf of Holsworthy charity El Shaddai.

El Shaddai is a charity responsible for taking children living in severe poverty and high risk situations and giving them an education, the chance of a new life and a better future.

Adam, who attends Duchy College, and the friends who helped him organise the day put in a lot of hard work, and an impressive amount of funds were raised on a brilliant day.

The club's vets' section has also been supporting the efforts of Ken Watson and Richard Prouse, who will be taking part in the Man Trek walk for North Devon Hospice on March 9.

A wonderful £120 was raised thanks to the generosity of members at Holsworthy, with the efforts of vets' captain Brian Gliddon and vice-captain Brian Beadle not going unnoticed.

He said: "My thanks to them and Holsworthy Golf Club for such excellent support for such a worthwhile cause."
