SOUTHGATE's players managed to achieve something they had never done before at the weekend — recover a 2-0 deficit and go on to win.

They had a disastrous start, conceding twice in the first ten minutes, before Liam Rich gave his side a lifeline with a goal before the break.

Harvey Jones levelled things up with a superb individual goal, and Simon Reardon followed suit with another fine long-range effort.

Victory was sealed when Charlie Paul scored a header from Lewis Halliday's free-kick.

Special praise was reserved for Will Johnson, who, in an unaccustomed wingback role, has his best game of the season.

The win was dedicated to Thomas Buckthought, who has recently had surgery.
