SPEED has become the essence for Year 7 student at Sir James Smith's Community School, Camelford, Alex Quinn.

A young karting expert, he recently competed in the first round of the Comer British Championships and won three out of four races —which put him in the lead of the British Championships.

Not only did he shatter the lap record for the Three Sisters circuit at Wigan, he was also the fastest cadet driver throughout the weekend.
