SIR James Smith's Community School's Commonwealth Sports Day, held last week, was a great triumph for all involved. The event involved all students, who participated in a variety of activities based around this summer's Commonwealth Games. The school games, which were supported by Sproulls Solicitors, Camelford, allowed students to take part in a number of morning workshops delivered by both staff and local community clubs and societies. These workshops included Commonwealth cooking, stadium building, rugby sevens, kick-boxing and archery. Following on from the morning workshops, all students contributed to an athletics event on the school track. The whole day was captured through video, photos and news articles by a group of Year 8 BBC school reporters. All the events fed into a house competition, competed for by the four school houses, with the eventual winners being Poldeme House.
