LOvers of cars, from classic to racing, should head for Par this weekend.

The Tregrehan Speed Hillclimb is taking place at Tregrehan Park (opposite Park market) – which comprises acres of rolling parkland suitable for picnics and walkers.

The two-day event (Saturday and Sunday, June 6 and 7) begins with practice action at 9.30am and goes on until about 5pm on each day.

Taking part will be single-seat racing cars, sports cars, hot saloons, road cars and bikes, all of which will be storming up the hill between the many trees at 100mph. There are lots of areas for spectators and visitors can also enjoy a classic sports car run and display as part of the Festival of Cornish Motorsport. Money raised at the event, run by Truro and District Motor Club, will go to the Cornwall Urology Trust.
