COUNTY youth commitments meant that Camelford began this fixture without six regulars, but despite this setback, created more first-half chances than the more experienced visiting side at Trefrew Park on Saturday.
Exmouth Town went ahead as the game approached the interval through Barry McConnell, however, his powerful header allowed to stand — much to the frustration of the Camelford players who believed a foul had been committed.
With the lead established, the visitors came out for the second-half in determined mood and duly doubled their advantage.
Kevin Hill smashed a loose ball home from inside the box, giving Camelford a mountain to climb.
Exmouth made sure of the points minutes later when James Ansell headed in a third, though Camelford did dominate the final 20 minutes — Ben Ringrose and Kyle Flew going close to grabbing a goal.
