CAMELFORD ensured they beat Bude Town for the second time this season on Friday night as they won 3-0 at Trefrew Park.

The earlier encounter was a controversial affair which the Camels won 2-1, and this one wasn’t much different, although the visitors were left to rue a string of missed chances.

Camelford took a seventh minute lead when veteran forward Mark Gusterson swept the ball in from 12 yards following a good run down the right by Sam Watts.

Both sides missed chances before the break, but it was the Camels who doubled their lead five minutes after the restart through centre-half and man of the match, Sam Wade.

Within two minutes Camelford right-back Tom Crowe was shown a second yellow card by referee Steve McCulloch despite being pushed into a Bude player, and the Seasiders were given a golden chance from the resulting free-kick as Eli Evans brought down Tyler Yendle.

However, Mitch McCann’s penalty hit the underside of the crossbar and bounced down, and before he could head it into an empty net, Mr McCulloch blew his whistle. After consulting with the linesman on the far side, he restarted the game with a drop ball.

Any hopes of a Bude comeback were extinguished on 65 minutes when Shae Cardiff fired in to the far corner after cutting in off the left.
