CALSTOCK F have won the Launceston and District Snooker League title for the third year in succession.
This year all 12 teams competed in one league, but this time with individual player handicaps adjusted, several different teams topped the table throughout the year. Calstock F (pictured right), however wrapped up the championship with a week to spare with Lifton finishing as runners-up, with Colin Park A third.
Sam Gardiner of Colin Park C was crowned Handicap Singles champion after defeating John Flux (Stoke Climsland) 3-0 in a very quick final.
Edmund Niciecki of Colin Park A claimed the Scratch Singles trophy after an unwell Andrew Williams (Luckett) conceded the final.
Callington pair Steve Hanson and Pat Pritchard beat fellow team-mates Ken Brown and Roy Chalkley in the doubles final, 3-2.
Luckett were triumphant in the Team Knockout Cup trophy beating Stoke Climsland 3-1 in the final.
Highest break of the season was a 48, made by Barry Blatchford (Calstock F) who also had three other monthly highest breaks. Other monthly break winners were Mike Jarvis (Callington) 34, Matt Eales (Colin Park A) 31 and Andrew Baker (Colin Park A) 30.
Gardiner and Hanson were joint leaders for having the most wins for the season with 17 (including Knockout Cup matches) out of 24 matches played.
In their first season, Colin Park C were the eventually winners of the Ken Allen Memorial Trophy.
League Secretary Edmund Niciecki expressed his thanks to Calstock Club for hosting the finals night and presentation evening held on Saturday, April 6, and to the ladies for the buffet. The trophies were presented by the league vice-chairman John Andrew (of Colin Park B).
The league AGM will take place at Luckett Social Club on Monday, July 15. Any interested teams are welcome to come along.
