AFTER a wet and windy few days, Bude Pilot Gig Club was grateful for the break in the weather on Saturday, which gave members the opportunity to enjoy Clovelly Regatta and see the beautiful village in all its glory. There was no way of getting around the steep decent through the village to the harbour where all the action took place; it was, however, a quite unique descent. Twelve teams from the local area and further afield ventured to Clovelly to compete, and what a great day of competition it was. The harbour was buzzing with spectators, rowers and beautiful wooden gig boats, with everyone enjoying a great day of racing, camaraderie and the lovely atmosphere that comes with racing.
