The course was intended to take anybody who had never done any running before and through coaching and group encouragement enable anyone taking part to be able to run a non stop 5km by the end of the course.
Despite some horrendous weather during January and the first couple of sessions, volunteer coaches Nathan Lyon and Layla Reay were delighted to see the Ladies turn up week after week, with the group camaraderie and enthusiasm proving to be what drove the group on to complete their challenge.
Starting with a run and walk in the first week and gradually building up, the final week saw the group finish the course by tackling a non-stop 5km run around Bud — -including hills!
The run finished with a presentation of certificates held at Tommy Jacks, from the Bude RATS to celebrate their achievements.
