IT ALL started with an advert in the 'Post' asking if anyone was interested in playing hockey in Bude.

An opening meeting was held at the rugby club, and the rest, as they say, is history.

The club started in 1983 as a ladies' team, with original members Kirsty Heslop, Shirley Walter and Maggie Hooper still playing today.

Over the years, the club's ladies have played in the local Trelawney League and progressed to the West Premier Two League.

The team began playing mixed hockey in 1988, which proved the catalyst for the formation of a men's team — Dave Long being the sole member of which still playing now, in 2013.

The club gained use of the astro-turf back in 1997, and since then has established two ladies' teams, two men's teams and a healthy junior section, which is run by player/coach Alan Muller.
