FOURTEEN boats started the morning race in a north easterly fresh breeze considerably stronger than forecast. First away were Bob Sampson and Louise in the RS 200 with Simon Veal and Steve Axford closely following. Bob's RS was the first boat around the mark. Steve managed to overtake the RS and had established a fair lead at the end of the first lap, whilst James Pollard and Vicki Duncalf, both in Laser 4.7s had a tussle for third place, with James managing to hang in and stay slightly ahead. Nathan Pollard, as usual, led the Topper fleet with Rachel hot on his heels. Bob continued to hold his own in second place flying the spinnaker regally down the lake. Sue Murray was going well and made progress through the fleet on the second lap. For the full report, and a round-up of the area news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.
