BOSCASTLE and Crackington Gig Club won the Pendeen Gig Trophy on Saturday at Newlyn in impressive style.

The club sent a full complement of teams down to compete against 13 others clubs, and some amazing rowing and coxing saw the Men’s A and B teams come first. The Ladies’ A and B teams also came in 4th and 2nd respectively, to secure the overall win, taking the pressure of the Vets’ teams who also put in great performances.

The Men’s A team were very honoured to be the first winners of a new cup donated by the family of Chris Cox, a popular young Pendeen rower who sadly passed away last year.

The overall trophy was a wooden pig that will now get pride of place in the ever-growing trophy cabinet.

The Club expressed thanks to Pendeen Gig Club for a great club day out with brilliant results.
