BLUSTERY conditions greeted competitors who took to Upper Tamar Lake last weekend.

Avoiding a big fishing competition lining the Devon bank, eight boats set off at the start of the midday race on a reaching course up the centre of the lake, with Alan Comber and John Weller in the Enterprise quickest away.

The speedy RS200 was soon into its stride, however, with James and Nathan Pollard in close pursuit despite the handicap of their light weight when keeping the boat upright on a gusty day.
