LAUNCESTON staged a late but well earned surprise as they triumphed in the England Golf Junior Champion Club qualifier held over their home course recently.
Cornwall Golf Union Junior Section President Phil Linaker welcomed those competing and thanked Launceston GC for their hospitality, the condition of the course, and their ongoing support of the Union.
With the 2013 winners Truro sat pretty in the clubhouse and looking like they were heading to Oxfordshire, Launceston's Josh Murray-Dustan, playing in the final group on the course, returned an excellent 41 stableford points to lift his club into first place.
