STUDENTS from Launceston Tae Kwon-Do travelled to Salisbury for the South West Area Championship.
Four of the black belts helped officiate in an umpiring and refereeing capacity.
Five colour belts competed and one black belt officiated and competed, with nearly five hundred competitors it was going to be a tough outing for all.
In the Junior section James Hunt competed in Blue Belt Patterns and sparring, he produced a fine pattern but fell outside the medals. In sparring he came against a more experienced and taller opponents, despite this Jamie sparred with maturity and narrowly lost.
Finlay Moses competed in a highly competitive Junior Boys Red Belt section, he too produced a good pattern but again fell outside the medals. In sparring he was the smallest boy in his category, he sparred without fear and never took a backward step but was beaten in the first round.
Lastly in the Junior section, Victoria Naylor competed in the Red Belt section. Victoria performed an excellent pattern, but due to the high standard in this category she finished just outside the medals.
