FOUNDED in 1929 by the town's traders' association, Stratton Bowling Club is over 80 years old.

Held in trust, it continues to exist as one of the few surviving legacies of the town of Stratton.

Over 90 men and women make up the club, with ages ranging from 23 to 96-years-old.

Two of the 23-year-olds currently represent the county's under 25 team, whilst in 2007 the club provided both ladies' and men's county presidents — a unique honour.

Next year, Sandra Parker and Wendy Trenchard will be representing Stratton in Group 2 — the old North Cornwall league — as secretary and chairman respectively, whilst members continue to do the club proud in the county and Tony Stephens competitions throughout winter.
